Description
Measles or rubella, is a viral infection that attacks the respiratory track, eyes and skin, although it is typically a childhood disease, adults are also susceptible. Measles are very contagious and is easily spread by coughing and sneezing. Illness usually sets in between seven and fourteen days after exposure to the virus. The first symptoms include fever, coughing, sneezing, running nose, and red eyes that may be sensitive to light. In four or give days, Koplik's spots (tiny red spots with white centers) appear beginning on the face and neck, gradually running together and extending down the body.
Dosage of Combination Salts:
Suggested dosage for Children and Adolescents:
- 0 to 1 year: 1 tablet
- 1 to 6 years: 2 tablets
- 6 to 10 years: 3 tablets
- 10 years and older: 4 tablets
Acute cases: In general, administered every 15 minutes, half-hour, hourly or in 2-hour intervals, as required, depending on the intensity of the symptoms.
Subacute cases: 3-4 times a day for a relatively extended period of time.
Chronic cases: 2-3 times a day for a relatively extended period of time.
Infants: 1 tablet at a time, dissolved in some warm water.
More than one salt can be taken concurrently; use in alteration.
Combination salt tablets should be allowed to dissolve under the tongue. Note: The salts are lactose based (milk and sugar)
Composition: Ferrum Phosphoricum 3X, Kali Muriaticum 3X, Kali Sulphuricum 3X
Ferrum Phosphoricum 3X: This is the first remedy indicated for any fever or inflammation. This tissue salt is specifically indicated for symptoms of inflammatory affection of the chest, eyes, nose and ears.
Kali Muriaticum 3X, Hoarse cough, glandular swellings, furry tongue with white or grey deposit, after-effects of measles, diarrhoea, whitish or light coloured loose stools, deadness from swelling in throat.
Kali Sulphuricum 3X Rash, peeling of skin, suppressed rash, rash suddenly recedes with harsh and dry stool, returning rash.
